Hey friends.
So I felt like expressing some of my concern I've been having lately, about being a team player. Recently, I've been running into people who just are not decent people. Whether they're mad because someone is unintentionally feeding, or salty because they ended up with support because all other roles were taken, there are just too many people who somehow manage to ruin a perfectly game of League in a matter of minutes.
Listen, I understand if you're a tad upset because you haven't been winning the last few games you've played, or perhaps you ran into a rather rude or trolly person last game. It's okay to be upset if you've been having a bad experience. But that gives you no reason to be so abusive to someone who is trying their best. Not everyone is as mechanically inclined, not everyone may understand counters or what to build on a champion. But that's okay. There was probably a time when you built AD on Le'Blanc, or AP on Riven. It's a learning process. You know what won't help them learn quicker what's best to build on their favorite champion? Being toxic to them. You know what will? Being helpful. Give them gentle advice, maybe some constructive criticism. Being mean will only make your team fall apart and guarantee a loss.
League isn't just about your skills. It's not about whether you can carry harder than the others or boast about how mechanically superior you are compared to the rest of your team. This is a game about cooperation. It's a game about working together to be successful. Flaming people not only makes you lose, it makes you a bully. I can't recall the countless times I ran into a toxic person, and the effect it had on me. I stopped playing. For months.
No matter what, we were all at a stage in our experience where we weren't the best players. We've all been the one to feed at one point, we've all underestimated an opponent once or were baited into a 5v1. It happens. Everyone has bad games. Everyone makes mistakes. And it's alright. We learn from them. So if you're losing, whether it's because of a poor matchup, or maybe someone is having a bad game. Just keep calm and give your team advice. Be that person to pick your team back up. Because team synergy beats all that stuff. Be kind to one another, and if you need any more motivation besides being a better person, you'll win more games. And if you see someone beginning to be toxic, don't let it get to you. Try not to lash back at them. Defend the victim, and try not to let it escalate further. And lastly, report them for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.
Even if this post may not reach to everyone, even just one person seeing this and trying to improve their behavior makes all the difference. It means multiple people won't have to experience a bully.
Thank you
