You won't get punished if people don't report you. If you only had friends on your team and the toxic chat was only in team chat, that means your friends were reporting you. Their reports are still valid.
I'm doubting that you only had friends in the games in question, though; if even 1 player is someone you don't know, you still have to be considerate of them. A 4-man premade won't somehow invalidate the 5th's rights and reports.
You should have also received a reform card with your punishment, showing your chat in recently reported games that lead to the restriction.
Seriously? Take a look at this thread you just made and the language you used. If your 'normal' is chat considered bannable then I can't even begin to imagine how bad it gets when you're angry.
OP people were not soft skin back in season 1 and season 2 which is highly consider the prime years of League. Nowadays we have kids playing this game and that why it this is all happening. Most of the mature people have left.
