Unsportsmanlike Penalty....?

> This post is primarily a question thread and secondarily a justifying (or in other words, I-officially-start-questioning-this-specific-case) thread.

Just today I received an unsportsmanlike penalty notification when I launched the client, and it said something about having a "penalty". I proceeded to hop in a game, but did not see anything that may be relevant to the penalty. No wait queues, no chat restrictions, everything seemed fine. Googling didn't seem to help much either, these threads are normally left unanswered. So what is this mysterious penalty I have received??

> Moving on to the second part (coughs) I haven't played for 9 days before today, and this was the only game I can think of that gave me an unsportsmanlike report. http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2513203302/211178258?tab=overview

I was Brand. Or Nano the Cat. Or yes, the person who fed. Oh boy was that a bad game for me. I most certainly did not do good during laning phase, or even when I was out of the laning phase. Backstepping to dodge a Nami Nami bubble just to step right on a freshly placed Caitlyn Caitlyn trap, being caught out and quickly cc'd and bursted to death, etc etc. On a minor note I also started lagging halfway through which I proved and stated by telling my team and pinging my ping in chat. Looking back on the match history's damage dealt to enemy champions after the game, though my damage was nowhere near average, I think it's fair to say that you can tell I didn't give up and fed intentionally.

Now here comes the part that left me

Our jungler, LeeSin Lee Sin started getting annoyed and was eventually pretty mad at me for dying. Some of the things I recall him saying was "Stupid", "....blind...", "You shouldn't play..." etc etc. Being aware that I'm doing bad and that he was mad for a decently understandable reason, I didn't try to talk back or even told him to stop. I just agreed with him and continued playing. After the game, I left the post game screen without saying anything.

Thinking back on this game, I realised I probably received the report because I was agreeing with his comments about me doing horrible, bad at the game, etc etc. However, this raised some questions for me. _Would it have turned out better for anyone of us if I had fought fire with fire? _Brand I didn't think so. Maybe it was just because that I was the one reported but, man, do I feel unjustified.

> > This turned out sounding very venting to the ears... (eyes?) *Inserts more

Feeding report doesn't check chat so that isn't it.

Do you remember the specific full message because it could also be this: https://i.imgur.com/itUil2q.png[IMG]

Remember when you were in school and a bully pounded your face into a locker and you took a swing back at the bully and you, the bully's victim, were the one that got caught and suspended? Well, that's what Riot does. They penalize you the victim because you didn't report the bully. Victims often do not report the bully. More often than not, victims stay silent. The bully and the bully's premade friends reported you, and Riot then penalized you for taking that swing at the bully and defending yourself.

According to Riot, you're supposed to turn the other cheek and let the bully get away with being a bully. You're NOT supposed to defend yourself from a bully. You're just supposed to do nothing and let the bully repeatedly pound the crap out of you, because of this policy of penalizing the victims, Riot promotes bullying behavior and penalizes the victims who defend themselves.

Way too often, it's the bully and the bully's premade friends that are the ones making the reports, and Riot is making those bullies feel powerful by penalizing the bullies' victims.

Literally the only thing you are allowed to do is say nothing, anything else can be considered flaming or toxic.
