Riot going overboard?
Maybe I deserved it, maybe I'm just whining.
Above is a link to my op.gg, and thus match history, as you can see my most recent game is one on Galio in which I went 2/26/10, and built very off meta, seems like a cut and dry inting case right?
Well here's where I think riot got it wrong, and its really upsetting me: First it should be noted that this is a normal game, in which I queued up as a group of 5 of my closest friends in real life. In the pregame lobby I hovered Jarvan, who I just recently picked up, got a new skin for, and have been very, very excited to play.
It's become common practice amongst my friends to ban each others champs out for the joke of it. The Varus in said game "Void Sniper" hovered a J4 ban into which in chat I said "if you ban Jarvan I'm going galio and running down mid". He did ban J4. I picked after and locked Galio.
We all realized the irony of the situation, and couldn't stop laughing.
Clock ticks by, and we load into game. The game starts off as expected, everyone runs to their lanes, with the only caveat being the top laners, I ghost down mid into the enemy Zed and immediately fight him, laughing with my friends, where as the enemy top laner does not connect to the game.
Now, Instead of taking the remake the enemy team decided to propose to an ARAM. All 9 connected players agree and begin fighting in mid lane, nobody caring and jokingly trash talking in all chat, but, due to principle, still I continued to run down mid, stealing the occasional kills or trying to hit 5 man ults.
Later into the game Warwick connects and begins to play, the game goes a little longer before we take their tier 3 and the ENEMY TEAM SURRENDERS, meaning we won the game in which I was intentionally feeding.
After the game I discussed with my team and nobody on my team had any qualms, and thought it was funny one quoting "My favorite game I've ever played". I for some reason got reported by the other team THE LOSING TEAM and received a 15 day ban. Speculating it be the Thresh as he seemed to be getting legitimately upset in all chat that his team was losing, my question is, where was I in violation of the summoners code?
- I supported my team, our goal was not to win but to enjoy ourselves and that was well communicated
- I drove only positive feedback, never flamed my team, or was toxic
- I was very civil, almost no typing in chat
- nobody was having a worse time due to my actions, everyone thought it was fine. it would've been more toxic if I went top lane with edge of night jayce or wukong and stomped the game tbh.
- built relationships with my friends, we all enjoyed it etc etc the only thing I would be questionable with was leading by example, even so is this worth a two week ban for having fun with friends in a normal queue game?
I messaged riot and their response was along the lines of, somebody on the other team didn't have fun, so we can't edit your suspension. Again, that specific play would have had an equal amount of displeasure had I gone something strong at the time, and just stomped the game. How is this any more reportable and toxic than picking a broken champion?
Edit: I should mention that the ticket I opened to dicuss this ban has been handled very poorly by Riot Legendary. Resonding only once every 2-3 days, and most of the time ignoring the main point of my argument.
