PC culture, shaming, free speech and the right to defend oneself

I think it's a pretty sick state of affairs in the way this game's "harassment" policies are policed. The tribunal system encourages participants to ALWAYS vote to punish, regardless of any facts. Team of 3-4 people can gang up, bully, harass and insult or intentionally be uncooperative in-game and suffer zero reprisal. And if you so much as dare to type a word in defense of yourself, they will just band together and report you. Then once it gets to the tribunal you are guaranteed a sanction because players are REWARDED FOR PUNISHING. It is a really stupid set-up. You get these players on your own team with champs like anivia and trundle who purposefully put walls or pillars in your path, or who bait you into a bad, reachy fight across multiple waves of minions, only to back out when it is too late for you, and then BLAME you repeatedly. SPamming meaningless pings, intentionally trying to get people on tilt. Then when you defend yourself, they cry foul. And Riot is encouraging this kind of behavior because they reward people for punishing. So it encourages people to queue together, troll an outsider, and get free points for bullying someone so much that they lash out in self-defense.

I think Riot actually banks on banning a lot of players as they know that people will create new accounts and buy more RP to replace the things they lost. Riot knows exactly what they are doing.

Bet they're a bunch of leftists.

  • There is no tribunal anymore
  • 1 report = 9 reports
  • Stop being an asshole and you won't be punished for being an asshole

You realize the Tribunal hasn't existed for a few years right? Also there is a difference between defending and retaliating.

Did you get anything in this post correct? Since the other paragraphs have been addressed, I will put the final nail in the coffin.

If Riot is banning people because they know it will raise profits, that would be capitalism. Most people would consider that a "right" ideal if we are looking at the poltical spectrum.

This seems a very good example of someone typing out of anger, with no concept of what they are talking about.... which is probably why you got banned in the first place.

I love how people throw this in like it is an insult.

If you're going to go on a rant like this, at least do some research. As others have pointed out, the tribunal no longer exists. It has not for over 2 years. So this reward-for-harassment nonsense is entirely fictitious. You are punished solely for your chat and actions, not anyone else's. There's a quick way to end anyone from harassing you, and that's the mute button. That excludes their chat from you, and you don't react to any of their chat. Then at the end of the game, you hit the report button. If you don't want to do that, then that's your preference.

  1. The Tribunal does not exist anymore, it has been replaced with the Instant Feedback System which you can read more about here.
  2. The way reports work, you cannot abuse the system by getting 9 man reported in one game, and be instantly banned/punished, even without actually doing anything. the IFS at most will get triggered to review your account, however if you were not toxic and don't show toxic behavior, literally nothing will happen.
  3. You can not only mute chat, but also now have the option to mute pings and emotes! There are ways to block out harassment completely in the game now. Fighting fire with fire is not allowed in this game, and us as Summoners should treat each other with respect. If someone is being rude, mute them and report them at the end of your match so the IFS can handle the player.
  4. I... I still don't get the "culture shaming" and "free speech" part of your title, I don't think you talked about it in your thread post...?

LMFAO, these type of posts are always so entertaining to read. There's no need to repeat things people already said.

Keep spouting nonsense friend. I can always use the entertainment.
