I just got banned for 2 weeks because of a game where my teamates and i argued, nothing really toxic was said in the game, but my tram and i disagreed on how to play it and started to argue with me. They all just started saying to report me and we just kept argueing. I don't feel like this is grounds for a two week ban and can i really do nothing to defend myself?

After I got the popup about someone I reported getting punished, I was almost hoping you'd show up here to try and defend yourself.

I was the Viktor in that game.

With the exception of a single homophobic slur, your chat in the game wasn't all that bad. I'm not sure what you were trying to accomplish the entire game, but your timing and pressure with the split pushing was just off. We pretty clearly had a team-fighting comp, with Yasuo, Viktor, Sona, Amumu, and Varus, but were almost always stuck a man down while you were off in some side lane setting them up for an easy pick. Even then, when we kept asking you to group up to win a team fight at an objective, you kept pushing the side lanes, with little to no ward coverage, and even less kill potential. When we decided to just follow you so that we could get objectives as a full team, you would teleport to another lane, leaving the rest of your team high and dry in a 4v5. It was frustrating, and it doesn't surprise me that our team would report you after that.

I however, wasn't planning on reporting you. While your in-game play and refusal to work as a team was frustrating, I didn't intend to report you until you went on your post-game lobby tirade. Some of the things you said after the game was over was outright unacceptable. Seriously, after the name calling and harassment, it was an easy decision to hit that report button. I hope your attitude and teamwork improves after your ban, because you're clearly a good player, but just don't work well with others.

can I really not defend myself?

Sure you can. They're called mute and report.

Realize that you're not defending yourself, just retaliating. Self defence implies preventing harm, which arguing back does the opposite of.

How is flaming going to help your case or "defend" yourself?

It's kind of what we have to deal with until real people start looking at reports instead a machine. You did say "fa**ot" though, I think. And the report bot just loves that word. For what it's worth, I'm sorry about your ban. But to a robot, justification doesn't exist. You just have to avoid certain words and phrases when you argue, if you must argue, anyway. It'd be better not to these days, though.

This is what I do. I give constructive criticism and if they think criticism is a form of argument.

  1. I apologize
  2. I stop arguing
  3. I ask them and myself to focus on the game.

i give myself a 5 min window.. if i am arguing with someone.. and its not getting any better or they arnt listening i just mute and move on.. nothing changes it at that point.. but they will try and bait you into saying something to get yourself restricted..

so.. chat log?

I just got permanently banned off a rage support. The chat logs of mine had nothing toxic in them at all and I got banned. This is ridiculous

Care to share the chat logs? And I do mean all 3 that you get from the in client reform card.
