Gross use of Tribunal System

https://i.imgur.com/OYgIm01.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wb8Ps4e.jpg Logged on today to find that I have been suspended for 15 days due to intentional feeding. According to Riot, "An overwhelming majority of players say intentional feeding ruins games," and I agree if that statement were made within the context of an even 5v5 match, however that is not the case. With this case in particular, my team had a Fizz top lane give up First Blood and rage quit just after the three minute mark (he never reconnected). My team then made the majority decision (everyone except the support Braum) to "open mid" after our mid lane died twice and my jungle had been invaded and pillaged. The match at this point is near impossible to win so I decide to help the enemy with their mission of getting 15 kills and/or assists. I am not contesting the suspension in any way, I would just like feedback from my fellow summoners. Is it right for Riot to force us to sit and waste time in a losing match and then proceed to suspend players for helping each other out? Am I totally in the wrong and deserving of this suspension?

I can understand the frustration when a game appears to not be going well.. multiple towers down before 15 minutes, every lane lost.. but hardly ever is a game decided at 15 minutes. While in this case the game probably wasn’t winnable, you don’t get to “majority decision” to intentionally feed. The majority decision comes into play with the 20 minute surrender vote - before then you are expected to still be trying to win the game to the best of your ability. Use the time to practice CSing under turrets, to practice jungling as a laner, etc. But don’t just feed the enemy kills - it makes the game less enjoyable for your teammates and the enemy.

Whenever someone says "we" I question it. It is hard enough to get 4 others to ward, none the less to allow a game loss. My guess is one person didn't want to open mid, and reported you.

I see you had good intentions and given the circumstances I can kind of understand. But you're basically admitting to intentionally feeding the enemy still, which is not so good.

My advice would be to just never feed for any reason, giving the enemy team a free ticket to an easy completed mission sounds nice, but I believe if they want it they should have to work for it.

Just remember you'll be on extremely thin ice after coming off this ban and a single infraction will get you a perma if you get reported again. Protect yourself!

How do you use something that doesn't exist?

This is definitely one of those rare cases that doesn't fall under the "normal" situations that people think about when they contemplate the rules. It certainly seems like an unwinnable game. 4v5s are hard enough, but when you throw in a losing midlane, and a Kayle jungle that has fallen behind the enemy Twitch jungle, I wouldn't fault you or the other two people who wanted to surrender. And to me, it does actually seem quite sporting of you to offer to help them out with getting their kills/assists for the missions. I'm sure if the update to the Honor system was in place to where you could honor enemies again, you would have been honored for it.

The only thing I could suggest doing differently... is perhaps ask your team if they minded you giving the enemies some kills. I'm not sure if this was ranked or not, I didn't see on there anywhere where it was marked as ranked, so I'm assuming it wasn't, but that would also make a difference. Even if you think a match is a loss, I would never recommend opening mid or inting in a ranked match. They are simply worth too much to people, and players are much more likely to report you for something like this in them. But if you've already asked them about it, then you'll know how they feel. And if they are determined to try and play the match out, and are adamantly opposed to you inting the kills, even if you're just trying to be a sport for the enemies, then maybe just try to do some of the things Chermorg recommends.

Yes, you're totally in the wrong and deserving of this suspension.

learn the art of subterfuge. make your teammates feed by setting them up. don't feed yourself. you thoroughly deserve this ban

The thing is, you must have been reported for it. I don't think the system will automatically give you a suspension for walking down mid and feeding UNLESS someone reports you for it (correct me if I'm wrong). So likely either someone on the enemy team was like "yo wtf" or Braum was pissed that you gave up and reported you for it. I suppose you could contest it, but it kinda ruins the fun and spirit of the missions as well.
