Probably because Jayce is 'The Defender of Tomorrow', so they didn't want to reuse 'defender'.

I feel like this is a valid argument. Poro Crusader? We could probably stand to see a Poro Crusader skin that featured lots of Poro emblems in his gear and maybe even gave him a pet Poro on his shoulder.
