Rengar Bug - Regular Q grants Attack Speed

Sooo, I may not be the most popular guy for pointing this one out but..

I've noticed that Rengar's normal Q attack will grant bonus attack speed for one basic attack on top of the listed benefits in the tooltip.

I remember Scruffy saying he would test out this mechanic to help Rengar's early jungle clear, but as far as I know it wasn't supposed to actually go in the final kit. Since this isn't actually listed in the tooltip I figure it must be a bug.

Honestly I'd consider keeping it since its actually quite neat.

You get the Attack Speed buff as soon as you activate the ability and it will stay on you for 2 basic attacks (the first enhanced basic attack plus one normal attack). This does mean that the Attack Speed boost will be gained even on Structures.

I should also note that this Steroid will stack with the Attack Speed Steroid from his Enhanced Q.

Use Q
Observe Attack Speed

Edit (20-06-14): To clarify I'm not referring to the attack reset that occurs. Its a literal hidden +x% attack speed buff.

Thanks for the report. That attack speed bonus for a single attack's deliberately there to ensure the regular Q is quick/responsive. A few other champions use the same approach (Vi's E from memory for example).

Just to make sure we're on the same page, it lasts beyond the scope of the Q attack.

What you say makes sense if it only lasted for the single basic attack making the Q animation faster. However, the bonus sticks around for one extra basic attack. This means you're actually getting a fairly significant (40% bonus AS) steroid for not just the Q attack but one extra attack after.

Also because the Q doesn't activate on Structures you get this AS bonus for about 2 seconds before it fades off you during which time you can happily strike a Tower repeatedly.

This also stacks alongside the Enhanced Q to give at level 1: 50% + 40% + 40% (not sure additive or multiplicative) bonus Attack Speed for a couple seconds on Structures. Granted this is hard to make use of (you have to activate the Q2 on a minion), but its definitely possible to exploit this for a fairly significant boost.

There is a hidden literal +x% Attack Speed buff that is gained for 2 basic attacs when activating Q.

Does the % AS show up in the stats area? If not, could you get this bug on video and post it here?

It was showing for me on the stats area. I watched my AS value and it visually increased on using the skill (I assume that's what you're referring to, there is no 'bonus AS' stat as far as I know?).

I'll check again to make sure I can reproduce it.
