I've been looking at some of the changes to Sona's kit and her appearance and I do like the model and texture updates, but I'm not sure I've seen any mention of her getting a true visual rework. I hope that you guys aren't pigeon holing her into pure utility either, seeing supports go into other lanes isn't unhealthy for the game imo.
So will she be getting some of the newest in standard animations or not?

What Sona is getting is a TU, which is a simple texture update. She IS getting new particles and such due to her rework, but I dont think it counts for a VU

Yeah, we're still referring to this as a TU although.. maybe it's more like.. an MTU (Model & Texture Update) or something since her base has a new model. However that model is fitted to her current rig with some tweaking.
What I think is interesting about this is it'll give us an idea how much value comes out of visual changes of this sort which don't just throw the current character assets in the dumpster and make, from an asset standpoint, what is essentially a new character.
Either way, feedback seems to be generally positive so I'm happy the team could deliver it!

Flemman1 votesPersonally I find her new hair cut a bit strange (looks like "put your hand in the air" >-<) Is it possible with the current sona model to make her hair not be up all the time? For exemple, maybe up just during an aura duration and 3-5 sec past ult then let them floating behind her the rest of the time. (that way pentakil sona can have floating hair too)
kiloampbanisher1 votesThe TU doesn't look good so far. Her hair looks likes a 5 year old ran a crayon through it and the simplification on her Etwahl's design looks bad overall. It doesn't look like an artifact but like a child's toy... something Mattel of Valoran could make for your five year old. Sorry for the harsh critique but I know Riot, and especially Parrot Man, can do way better then this.
