Champion Skins and IP - the solution is this simple
I am not one of those guys who has every champion (honestly, I don't even play LoL anymore; it's just boring now). I have like 20 or so, maybe a little more, but I only have one skin and it always aggravated me that I needed RP to buy skins. Why can't IP buy the skins I want? I don't want any new champs, I have all the runes I need to play casually, why should I have to pay for new skins with real money? The answer: Because Riot is a business, and I need to stop complaining.
I totally understand, and I was totally whining down a hole. Skins should be bought with RP, and I agree with that now (I've seen in other threads that there should be a donate-to-charity option and maybe Riot could implement that, too). But, my buddy has every champion and all the IP he will ever need, so, I'm thinking of him.
Maybe, Riot could create a system where you "Rent" a skin for an amount of IP that scales with the amount of RP associated with that skin. So, if I wanted to rent a Nasus skin that cost X RP, then I could pay X+Y IP to "Rent" the skin for a few games or a day so to see if I like it. Then, I can determine if the skin is worth buying or not. Maybe Riot could add a limit to how many times you can do this in a month or a total limit, or maybe only make particular skins available in this way, blah blah blah; I'm only mentioning this as an idea. I don't actually think I'll go back to playing LoL any time soon. I honestly don't think I'll even check back on this post. I just wanted to get this idea out there, whether it be rejected or not.
Well, anyway, have fun, guys! Hope to see you on the Fields of Justice someday!
