Champion Skins and IP - the solution is this simple

I am not one of those guys who has every champion (honestly, I don't even play LoL anymore; it's just boring now). I have like 20 or so, maybe a little more, but I only have one skin and it always aggravated me that I needed RP to buy skins. Why can't IP buy the skins I want? I don't want any new champs, I have all the runes I need to play casually, why should I have to pay for new skins with real money? The answer: Because Riot is a business, and I need to stop complaining.

I totally understand, and I was totally whining down a hole. Skins should be bought with RP, and I agree with that now (I've seen in other threads that there should be a donate-to-charity option and maybe Riot could implement that, too). But, my buddy has every champion and all the IP he will ever need, so, I'm thinking of him.

Maybe, Riot could create a system where you "Rent" a skin for an amount of IP that scales with the amount of RP associated with that skin. So, if I wanted to rent a Nasus skin that cost X RP, then I could pay X+Y IP to "Rent" the skin for a few games or a day so to see if I like it. Then, I can determine if the skin is worth buying or not. Maybe Riot could add a limit to how many times you can do this in a month or a total limit, or maybe only make particular skins available in this way, blah blah blah; I'm only mentioning this as an idea. I don't actually think I'll go back to playing LoL any time soon. I honestly don't think I'll even check back on this post. I just wanted to get this idea out there, whether it be rejected or not.

Well, anyway, have fun, guys! Hope to see you on the Fields of Justice someday!

I think this is a really great idea. Maybe if it's only 1 skin at a time for about 3 battles or so but anyways it's a really great idea. Thumbs up!

Hi,i think this is a great idea, because some people may have parents that cant spend them money and by this way they can play with skins like other so (Yes for it NO for bendirt01)<3 "JOKING"

Riot is a business so they need money in order for them to keep their workers. The rent a skin thing is a dumb idea (in my opinion) because you could just look up what the skin looks like or watch one of those skin spotlight videos. Plus when you have a skin it sort of gives you that "I'm cool" feeling because you payed for something cool, so you can show it off. With the rent a skin though almost everyone will have skins and it doesn't make you feel as good to have a skin, other players won't even know if you actually own the skin. When people read this i want them to know THIS IS MY OPINION so don't go into a rage about how the rent a skin thing is "way cool" now if you don't mind, I'm gonna give riot so more money. GG.summoner 12 Oh and i think someone already tried doing this before, and you can see how that worked out. :P

As long as it doesn't get out of hand. Mabey only 1 skin at a time for short periods of time. We don't want to get it out of hand do we? The was my seroius answer. Now what i really want to say: YES THIS IS A GREAT IDEA. I want to preview skins and skin spot lights aren't helping that much. I WANT TO SEE WHAT IM BUYING. Sometimes they draw pics r way better than in game. YES. Cheaper the skin cheaper ip cost

this is kinda like what Hi-Rez does with Smite, except it is with "Gods" instead of skins. Great idea man!

I guess it wouldn't hurt to add this and if you choose you waste our ip for a rent go for it

I don't know if this is there in NA,but in the Garena LoL u could rent a skin with IP. But the skins came to the store 6 months after release.

Its good for people who don't have all the money in the world to spend in a game just to try a skin and then buy it is great so you don't have the disappointment if you don't like the skin

I actually think that this could possibly help riot out in selling skins. I can imagine quite a few people being apprehensive about buying s skin right off the bat when each summoner only gets three(?) refunds. For example, the Full Metal Pantheon skin's splash art is amazing, but in-game it could seem like a bit of a disappointment.
