How do i build wukong?

I would like an idea on what I should be getting on wukong as a top laner. So far my build is Start with Doran blade rush brutalizer. Tri force Merc treads or ninja tabi Black cleaver then I get a few tank items. Sunfire, randuins, banshee, GA

Am I building too much dmg and need to build more tanky? or is my build fine?

I haven't played top lane wukong in a long time. I would recommend looking at Mobafire for some build inspiration. You could also check out probuilds, though I think most of the pro's are playing Wukong in the jungle now.

Just off the top of my head, I would say go Crystalline Flask start (unless you're confident in your early game survivability, Wukong has sort of a weak early game, and he can be a little mana hungry, so I prefer the sustain of flask over the offensive ability of doran blade). Brutalizer is a good item on Wukong, since he's more of a spell-based champion than an auto attacker. I think most people build Ravenous Hydra on Wukong top lane. Trinity Force is an interesting buy, I don't know if it's the most efficient item on him though. Wukong doesn't have any AP scaling (besides on his W, which you usually aren't going to be using as a major source of damage anyways), so you're going to want to build AD as Wukong instead of AP. Health is also a great stat on Wukong because he already gets resistances due to his passive; you'll want to prioritize health over resistances if you can (ie. if you're working towards a sunfire cape, it's better to go with the giant's belt first, then the chain vest, since the health works better with your passive than extra armor does).

If I were to play Wukong top, I'd probably go with crystalline flask and hp pots to start, go for a tiamat or brutalizer first, then finish ravenous hydra if i can afford to build more damage. I would probably build sunfire cape and boots next (either ninja tabis or merc treads, depending on my needs), and go for tanky items like banshee's and randuins. If you're going for more damage on Wukong I would probably get a last whisper before going into tanky items. I don't think it's really necessary to finish black cleaver until later in the game, since it isn't the most gold efficient item (unless you really need armor pen, in which case, last whisper is probably a better option). CDR is also a good stat to build on Wukong (which is why Brutalizer is so good, in addition to the AD and armor pen), since he's a champion that uses his spells a lot more than his auto attacks. I don't think you'll need more than a Brutalizer though.

hope this helps!

Some wukong fotm builds are assasain wukong but bruiser wukong is also solid. for top rush the black cleaver then go straight tank = freelo teamfight.
