Another Zilean Rework Idea

Passive: Synchronize. If Zilean is auto attacking the same champion as an ally he matches that ally’s attack speed. (If there are multiple allies he matches the highest speed)

Q: Time Bomb. Damage changed to 100 / 155 / 210 / 270 / 330 (+ 140% AP) from 90 / 145 / 200 / 260 / 320 (+ 90% AP) Cooldown is reduced by 1 second for each target hit beyond the first.

W: Delay. Zilean warps time around himself or an allied champion. This causes all damage and crowd control effects for the next 3 seconds to be applied 1 second after they impact. Cooldown 20 seconds, Duration 3 seconds, Delay 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds

E: Time Dilation. Zilean alters the time stream for target champion. Allies move at 120% normal pace (movespeed, attackspeed, cooldowns, regeneration, cast times, etc…) while enemies move at 80% their normal pace. Cooldown 10 seconds, Duration 2/2.5/3/3.5/4 seconds

R: Chronoshift. Unchanged except for cooldown 120 seconds

Philosophy.

At present Zilean is a terror in the laning phase, but peaks out after level nine. This is primarily because of the immense damage output double bombing has. Therefore the goal of this rework was to smooth out his oppressive early power so he can be given meaningful power gains later in the game.

Synchronize. Let’s be honest with ourselves. Zilean does a ton of auto attacking once he’s blown his cooldowns. This and the bomb changes are both geared towards giving Zilean something to do after laning phase ends. I’ll miss the old passive even though it wasn’t that relevant after level two.

Timebomb. With double bombing gone the bomb can be given some more oomph. Most of that extra oomph has been geared toward late game. The increased ratio rewards Zilean for investing in AP while the cooldown reduction is more likely to trigger in teamfights letting Zilean fire off more bombs later in the game.

Delay. This here is the kicker. Truth be told I’m actually kind of scared of it. Not only does it give Zilean that extra time to chronoshift a soon to be dead teammate it essentially gives someone leave to act with impunity. Put this on Leblanc before she combos and her target is dead. She probably is too, but that may well be a fair trade.

Time Dilation. This is mostly an attempt to spice up time warp which has always been fairly blah (although I did love moving super-fast in perpetuity). I’m a little concerned that it’s too much hidden power, or worse that the opponent would mistake this for his computer lagging. Definitely open to change on this one.

Chronoshift. Same thing we know and love just had the cooldown lowered to help compensate for the removal of rewind.

What do you guys think?

I actually find the passive idea very interesting. It's new and it's cool. As far as the ult goes, I wish there can be something a little bit more unique, even if it's new particle effects or something. Because right now, Zilean is pretty much just a walking item 3026. :/

The problem is, Without rewind, you take out a lot of Zilean's Identity. His entire thing is being able to permabomb or permahaste/slow someone with CDR and mana. I'm guessing you saw my Zilean rework idea.

I want a zilean rework too, but if you remove rewind, you could easily turn it into his passive and change bomb so that you have to make a meaningful decision if you want to double bomb someone and give Zilean another damaging ability on his W which also amps up his mid and late game damage while also increasing his investiture on AP.

Delay would be the worst champion spell in the game. Ever. Zilean is fine the way he is right now.
