I used to play Ahri a lot, but she was (and kinda still is) mana hungry in lane, so I retired her. I played her a little bit before the 4.12 patch, and did well; but I struggled a little against harass and remembered why I stopped playing her to begin with.

Today's game was one of my first few games as Ahri after the patch, and the mana cost reduction on her Orb of Deception is making a significant difference in her laning phase for me. I can poke back a little more now, worrying less about going oom and focusing more on what's happening around me.

Admittedly, Ahri's role in Riot's new cinematic film restored some interest in playing her, but I'm really pleased with her overall performance and effectiveness. I wish I had recordings of my recent games with her; I almost forgot how much fun she was to play.

Yeah, though I didn't like in the cinematic how she seemed kinda useless half the time. Even at the end she was like 'no I'm going to die' and then suddenly pulled out her ult. If she had her ult ready, why didn't she use it before then? Doesn't honestly make sense.

The rest of the cinematic was pretty awesome though.

I still play Ahri from time to time, and I've always prioritized a few mana regen items on her just so I don't have to worry about mana past the laning phase. But it would be nice not to have to compensate for her low mana regeneration, then I could build items focusing on something else.
