Nunu, the Fighter - A Kit Rework By A Robot.

I have a few idea's about a Nunu re-work that I need to get out of my head, so I'll just jump right in here.

Nunu - The Yeti Rider

Fighter, Melee

Passive - Visionary

Nunu can cast a spell for free after 5 attacks.

"I think Nunu is in a good place with this passive."

Q - Consume [New Ability]

Cooldown: 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 / 9

Cost: 60

Nunu's Yeti takes a bite out of an enemy on his next basic attack, dealing 80 / 140 / 200 / 260 / 320 (+35% of ability power) magic damage and healing Nunu for 25% of the damage dealt. This attack will deal 160 / 280 / 400 / 520 / 660 (+70% of ability power) true damage to minions and neutral monsters while healing Nunu for 50% of the damage dealt. The target is also slowed by 75% for 0.1 seconds.

"Nunu seems like he could be made more fun if his Q was useable on champions as well as minions. This works to make him feel like more of a fighter, rather then a support hybrid as he currently is. Personally, I think with this re-work the monster buffs are unnecessary, but could be kept to make it more interesting. The micro slow also helps when ganking lanes, giving more incentive to do so."

W - Blood Boil [New Ability]

Cooldown: 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 / 12

Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80

Passive: Upon being hit or attacking an enemy, Nunu's armor and magic resist are increased by 1 / 1 / 2 / 2 / 2. This effect can stack 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 times and they quickly decay one at a time while out of combat for 3 seconds.

Active: Nunu consumes all stacks of Blood Boil and and gains attack speed equal to (150% of consumed stacks) and percentage movement speed equal to (50% of consumed stacks) for 8 seconds. Nunu's physical attacks also deal an additional 20 + (5 x level) + (15% of ability power) magic damage and his size increases by 10% for the duration.

"Again, moving away from the support hybrid into solid fighter, I believe changing blood boil to a self buff would result in a more cohesive kit. This ability helps with the de-buff to Nunu's jungle sustain, gives him some burst during trades and team-fights, can help during chases, and possibly with ganks.

W - Ice Blast [New Ability]

Cooldown: 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 / 7

Cost: 65 / 75 / 80 / 95 / 100

Range: 650

Nunu throws a ball of ice at target location, dealing 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+70% of ability power) magic damage and slowing the movement speed of enemies struck by by 30/35/40/45/50% and attack speed by 25% for 3 seconds.

"Changing Ice Blast into an AOE skill shot opens the move up to counter-play and rewards players who can hit multiple enemies with a single shot. This also allows for better ambushes from the jungle with the additional range.

W - Absolute Zero

Cooldown: 110 / 100 / 90

Cost: 100

Range: 575

Nunu charges a furious wintery blast in a large area around him. While channeling for 3 seconds, Nunu slows nearby enemy unit's attack speed by 25% and movement speed by 50%. After channeling, enemies caught in the area are dealt 625 / 875 / 1125 (+250% of ability power) magic damage depending on how long Nunu channeled.

"Really, after thinking about it for awhile, I couldn't see a reason to change Absolute Zero. It offers a large window for counter-play or escape, while being a huge threat if not interrupted. I added a small flavor description to clear up where it is targeted from and how it works."

Well, that's all I have for you folks. I wouldn't mind some feedback, tell me if you like my ideas, if you think Nunu is fine as he is, or if you have your own ideas for Nunu just post them below. Robot out Blitzcrank.

Changelog

[5/9/14: Fixed a few grammatical errors and miss-spellings. Changed the rate at which Blood Boil stacks accumulate.] [5/9/14: Changed Consume's wording to reflect basic attack.]

Personally, I would rather the blood boil stack up faster to the cap, the the armor and magic resist not go away after using bloodboil, but other than that, I like it, and would love to see Nunu changed, because I really don't like how his Q screams jungle and nothing else, his W screams support and not much else, and his e and ult are just hey look massive damage have fun. Also, I hate click to targets, so +1 for that :D

Looks interesting, but I think your tuning might be off a bit. The 0.1 sec slow on Q might look more like the slow on Trundle's Q or the momentary snare on Leona's E, and I'm not sure that's what you had envisioned. Also rank 5 W gives up to 60 free resists that's quite a lot (that's the same as Leona's W for reference)!

As to the mechanics, I'll comment on each ability separately.

Consume: I think this ability might be more satisfying as a basic attack reset rather than a targeted ability. This also gives it a little synergy with Nunu's passive. However, in the long run I don't like how this ability doesn't really contribute to the play pattern of "setting up the big ult" (granted, live Nunu's Q is even worse in that sense). The ability also feels a little overloaded with bonus damage, a minion/monster execute, a heal, and a slow on it.

Blood Boil: Despite its synergy with ult, I'm not a fan of this stacking on getting hit because "Don't hit opponent to make sure they don't get tanky" is a kinda awkward form of a counterplay, in my opinion. I didn't really get the impression that Nunu was the berserker type, so having a "sacrifice defense stats for offense" ability might not be the best fit for his kit. Maybe a point blank AoE attack speed buff would work better? This would reinforce Nunu's play pattern of trying to get targets (this time allies) in the area around him.

Icy Blast: I like this change in general. I just wanted to note that this change does raise Nunu's skill floor. Thinking holistically, it's important to have at least a few low skill floor champions so that newer players (or player learning a new role) have someone to play.

Also, what roles did you see Nunu playing now? It looks like jungle and top from your kit's design. Do you think that support Nunu should still be a thing?
