Remake Shen?

Riot I would think that all the top laners as well as the old school JGs would like a rework on shen not his Character model but his abilities. Vorpal blade i think is good and does not need anything changed as well as Feint lets face it, Its a shield that absorbs dmg and gives Cd on Ki Stike. However shens Shadow Dash and Stand United needs something done. After Using Q and W for trades Shadow dash just Drains so much energy from Shen and makes him useless accept auto attacking not only does it make him Useless in team fights but also it makes him defenseless, ADC starts Chunking you down and either you run, pop flash, or wait for Feint to come back up thats it usually your an easy target to the team and your team is dead or far away from you. Wouldnt it be nice to add 2 Shadow Dashes so he can initate in team fight then jump out serving as an escape? Also for everyone that tried Jg Shen i think this would work to any jgs advantage. Shen dashes out of brush for gank bot lane misses his 1st Dash then dashes on the adc giving his team a kill. If not 2 dashes what about making his energy regeneration faster after dashing. And last but not least Stand United so either you Take TP as a summoner Ult to a team ate late game save them and lose top lane or ignore them for making a decision and keep top lane. After seeing the changes to Zed with his ult I think Shen at least needs this to change after Using Stand United on a teamate after Teleporting to them after you have shielded them you from there have 3 sec to Port back.

Shen's a tank, once he gets into the enemy team, he's supposed to stay there, soak up damage, and decent amount back with his passive. And I think the whole save teammate/save your lane decision is actually a pretty good one, and probably one riot wants to keep in the game, of course I can't speak for them and I could be completely wrong, but i like that decision about him personally.

I agree with you on the Ult issue; I believe it should stay as is, leaving Shen with the gamble of choosing to aid his lane, or his ally. His ult is already a nice benefit, I think giving the ability to port would make it a bit OP. I do have to agree with Colt about the Shadow Dash/ Energy problem, however. I love Shen, partly because he has an interesting kit, and partly because, I mean, come on, he's a tanky ninja. With that said, I do find it hard to have a deeper love for him when he eats up his stamina pool with a dash. I do understand that they gave energy return per taunted champion, but as said up top, it seems one taunt can end up making him useless for a while. Now I may be completely wrong about this, but I see fellow energy champions such as Zed and Akali going crazy with their skills, and executing hasty combos like true Ninjas, while Shen is on the side limping around in wait for his energy to return. I get that he is a tank, and his sole purpose is to take damage, but I also believe he should be able to do just a bit more than hope that his taunt lands or suffer an energy handicap. Anyways, this is all just my opinion, either way, Shen still has a place in my heart. Shen

I can accept that, and I agree that it probably does need a cost and/or cd reduction, but I just don't like the idea of a tank dashing in and dashing out, and using both offensively would mean at least 3 champions will get taunted every amount of seconds every teamfight, which would be a little ridiculous. I feel like the feeling useless after dashing in seems more of a problem with the rest of his kit, but i don't play him more than occasionally, so i can't really say what I do/don't like about him in great detail. Maybe make Feint a little more interesting? I personally wouldnt mind something that gave him some movement speed so he could maybe position himself better to shadow dash or possibly kite the enemies a little better after it goes off. Now that I think about it, he only has one form of CC. I actually would like to see Shen remade to be if not more functional then at the very least more thematic, because right now hes more of a tank with energy rather than a Kinkou tank.

Let's see, he seems more based off of samurai rather than ninja, so that's something to take into consideration. I don't really know much about samurai, at least as far as making a game mechanic around them goes. His lore revolves around balance and equilibrium (like pretty much all of Ionia), so, as a tank that says to me... that kind of wants me to say the more he takes damage, the more others take damage, so maybe he has a mechanic that deals damage based on his missing health? Or maybe giving him a sort of thornmail mechanic like Rammus, but then that makes the two of them very similar, because Rammus has a thornmail-like ability and a taunt himself. So going back to the first idea, what if instead of his passive scaling off of bonus health it scales off of missing health, and instead of Feint giving his attacks the ability to reduce the cooldown by 2 seconds, it gives him movement and attack speed, and the shield could scale nonlinearly with resistances or health so that its not overpowered in the laning phase, but useful later on. hmm... Or what about a passive effect of one of his abilities that increase his movement speed when his by a basic attack. That could actually synergize well with his taunt.

Idk, I'm not a Shen expert and I'm just spitballing ideas out right now, I just really like the idea of champion reworks, so thats mostly why I'm here lol
