So recently, I figured I didn't really have that many support champs, so I decided to get 1 that wasn't that expensive. After playing many games I decided that I needed one of these two champs. But I have no clue who to get..

I voted for Karma. She recently received a rework and her kit is likely to stay as it is for the foreseeable future. Sona's been rather rough to play since the S4 support changes. I don't think anybody at Riot has said so but I'd speculate her kit is likely to see noticeable changes sooner rather than later.
I voted sona but she's extremely out dated.
Karma has great skillshot poke, which makes bush-checking a breeze, while Sona has powerful utility poke, which makes 2v2's vastly in your favor.
Karma has a useful shield or potential multi-shield, which is great in team-fights especially when combined with the Locket of the Iron Solari; Sona has a nice heal and decent survivability aura which can also help team-fights.
Karma does have a very nice root, which is great for chasing or peeling, while Sona can spam her movement spell and slow anyone chasing her.
Karma can boost any one of her abilities, which is slightly less useful in the support role, while Sona's ult is a supreme play-maker.
I prefer Karma, but that's just because of her skill-set. Sona also brings quite a bit to the table.

Karma if you like SHOOTING LASERS and RUNNING FAST.
Sona if you like STEALING LAST HITS, HEALING MINOR AMOUNTS OF POKE and HAVING HARD CC.
neither? I am not a fan of these champs, Sona is going to get a rework(minor or major) sooner than later (kit is a mess). Karma support is good in some edge cases but she mostly becomes a 
in champ form.
Are you just looking for the mobility aspects? Cause the 2 champs are way different. Off mages can do alot in the support role also. annie, lux, zyra ect.
