Ashe Needs A Buff

ButtersBBG··1 votes·2,080 views

As of recently, I've really started to notice how weak Ashe is after playing other champions. I've come up with a good way to buff this champion without making her OP, but on board with with other adc's in the game. As of right now, Ashe is arguably the worst adc in the game and one of the worst champions in general. What I have in mind would effectively make her fit in the meta and appear in tournaments again. The two abilities that I'm adding a text to for what they should be buffed to do that need very necessary buffs as well as her passive.

Make it so her passive only activates on enemy champions.

Frost Shot TOGGLE: Ashe enchants her basic attacks with ice, slowing her targets for 2 seconds. (Buff: Frost Shot also grants Ashe 5 or 10 attack damage when toggled.

Hawk Shot PASSIVE: Ashe gains 3 bonus gold each time she kills a unit or destroys a structure. ACTIVE: Ashe animates a hawk to scout for her, granting sight for 2 seconds as it flies towards a target location. Hawkshot grants a 1000-radius area of sight for 5 seconds when it reaches its destination. The sight extends into brushes. (Buff: Hawk Shot travels to its designated location causes explosion damage, or blows up on the nearest enemy champion in the radius of the explosion. Hawk Shot also applies a slowing affect if there is at least one point in Frost Shot.)

(Note: Exposing the map and finding potential ganks is useful, but if an enemy is going to try these tactics against Ashe . If she of fortunate enough to find something the enemy should be punished for doing so in some way. Just because you see the gank coming, doesn't mean much if the gank is someone like Jax and is overpowered. This also adds to the chase power that people argue this ability has, even though Ashe is a terrible chaser these days.)

Buff isn't really needed. Given the current state of league of leaps, positioning is a huge thing for Ashe, if you can't position well, you can't play Ashe. Peroid. She's still a strong champion, great late game, great kiting power. She can really wreck a teamfight and help keep distances if you've got a poke oriented comp.(with Volley+Frost shot) Just with the popularity of assassins and all-in(kill lane) bot lanes she's become very hard to play in the current Meta, but still very worthwhile if you play her well.

Edit:Also, hawk shot isn't used to see oncoming ganks, you use it to scout a bush so you don't have to face check it, or say while chasing them into the bush so you don't give them the MD advantage that can destroy an adc easily. There's also the situation of We saw the jungler\mid pass a ward by mid lane heading bot... and using hawk shot to give a specific position of them so your jungler\mid can counter gank better.

Before I think about writing a counter-argument. Tell me how many pros played her in LCS NA and EU.

A absolute ton of champions arn't picked in the LCS.. doesn't make them bad.. there's plenty of champions that don't fit in the current meta, doesn't mean they need changes. And Ashe was picked recently by C9.

In fairness. I was mistken. Ashe was picked Last year by C9, with the Ashe Zyra combo.

AP Ashe sucks, do you realize how good the support as to be for that to work ever? The support has to be better than two players. Their skill level has to equal three players, or more because Ashe has now push power until level 6. That's terrible.

Ashe is not weak for 4 reasons:

1.- She outfarms everyone always unless you miss cs HARD, by midgame if you farm well you'll be 1 or 2 items above your enemy (given both have similar K/D/A and CS)

2.- Best ult if you know how to land it. Not only it's a powerful stun but it's almost a guaranteed assist, meaning you'll be gaining gold for kills on other lanes if you manage to hit it which works for Ezreal, Draven and Jinx as well, though, they cannot initiate with theirs.

3.- Kite, many champions are weak to kiting and with the recent removal of Frozen mallet, Ashe became singlehandedly the best kiter in the game.

4.- Range, only 50 points bellow Cait.

She's vulnerable to dashes of course but almost every champ has a weakness and it's not like with proper play (and bloodthirster's new shield) she couldn't be played, the thing about LCS is that they go for safe picks, Ashe is not really safe but she's a massive powerhouse when played right.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Frozen Mallet, or not her kiting abilities are horrible because she has no mobility and any gap closer can catch her. Which, these days if you see someone in a game playing a champion without a gap closer is miracle. There is no possible way she can make mid game with a good K/D/A unless the other team bot lane sucks, because she can't keep up with damage. Utility doesn't matter with a ADC, damage does, because damage is what wins. Even with Lucian's nerf, he'll still wreck Ashe like no bodies business. In fact, Ashe gets wrecked by every ADC that's being played by even a competent player. Ashe is a terrible champion.

sorry but I still disagree, Ashe in lane is great for csing, she will need a good peeler support, I give you that, but more the power to the Ashe player if he/she manages to remain important in all stages of the game.

Utility does matter in any champion, look at Kayle, no matter how much nerfs she takes, her ult will always be game changing, same for Ashe, a good ult will turn any teamfight into -1 enemy, note also that the fact that ashe can have an Infinity edge before anyone in the game is HUGE, you NEED to cs since that's one of Ashe's biggest point of power that equates to any steroid from any champion.

If dmg is the only thing that matters in an ADC then champions like Sivir, Ezreal and Twitch wouldn't exist, they have means to apply dmg which Ashe also have, they don't have her range or her mid-attack volley shot, nor do they scale as hard or have a Stun on command

Ashe requires you to play like you would play Draven or Vayne without the huge steroids but I guarantee you that you if you do, if you take the time to micromanage Ashe you'll see why she hasn't received much changes since hawkshot addition.

ButtersBBG1 votes

You have no idea what you're talking about, Hawk Shot did not receive anything close to an addition. Hawk Shot already worked that way, all they did was change the tool-top for it. That isn't a buff, that's giving you information you didn't have before. Ashe needs buffed to be a viable champion again.

You keep saying I have no Idea what I'm talking about, yet you don't know that Ashe's hawkshot didn't use to have an active portion in season 1 and that's the change I'm talking about, ever since then Ashe has received numerical tweaks only and with good reason, she doesn't need anything else, be free to disagree.

Koraji yo1 votes

Both what HiGER said, and that it was changes about a year ago to give more gold at early levels, and less at higher levels(3 all levels rather then 1-5 depending on rank)

Koraji yo2 votes

That's not true. It's about positioning. Kha'zix can't leap ontop of you if you're out of his leap range. and he can't do it safely if there's a leona standing next to you, or other teammates otherwise in a position to immediately prevent any action from being taken. Secondly. Ashe can keep up with the damage. Again this is all about positioning, being aware of your support\junglers position, and your enemies positioning. What you're doing is heavily underestimating her poke damage between her auto+volley(reset)+Crit combo. And utility does matter. You know that leap trist has to get away from people. That's Utility. You know the knockback and MS boost draven has, that's utility. Both these Utility factors make both these ADCS pretty great for two different reasons. And Lucian probably would wreck Ashe, early. Given he can dash every 1.2-2seconds with his new leap effect. It's just a counter, much like cait vs vayne.

Koraji yo1 votes

Gotta say... Frozen mallet not good on Ashe. To increase kiting power, Furer boots are the way to go. As you'll both increase your MS with your attacks, and slow theirs.

HigeR1 votes

hehe you're right but what I meant to say was that with Frozen mallet's passive removal, Ashe's permaslow is now an unique ability of her, no one can kite like she does!

ButtersBBG1 votes

I like how people would possibly support that awful Caitlyn rework that gained post of the day, but not a buff for a character that actually needs it.

Hyrum Graff1 votes

Honestly all Ashe needs is a useful passive.

Koraji yo1 votes

Her Passive is useful in that it gives her a solid laning phase. without it she'd kinda suck in the laning phase even more. Even if the passive pretty much falls off completely 25 minutes in.

Do you realize how much the other team has to suck for this to ever happen?
