Clicking on the news space once logged in doesn't work

When I open up the LoL Client I can click on the patcher client's news that pull up their stuff within the client. I then proceed to click play and log in. after a few seconds of stuff loading it shows client. I am able to click on everything normally except the news space. when i click on something like the "/ALL Chat | URFtacular!" or the "HELP US IMPROVE; share your feedback" it does nothing. However when i click on the skin promotions for Teemo and Jarvan it takes me to their respective skins in the shop. Also the Spectate button works allong with it's two navigation arrows.

I am able to reproduce this when i log off (pressing the big "x") and reload the client.
