I have a Windows 8 computer, and have already gone into properties to change compatibility. League is able to log on, but after a few seconds it freezes my whole computer and I have to force it to shut down. Is it something to do with the new patch? (I also had problems updating, so I had to uninstall and then reinstall.) Please help!
Same issue here. I sent in a support ticket so hopefully I'll get some kind of a response soon enough.
[Update] I have gotten a response. So far, no dice. I tried everything the support person said, but no luck so far. They asked for my logs and such, and I just replied to them about 5 minutes ago, so we'll see if I get any more help tonight or not. If you guys haven't done so already, I highly recommend sending Riot a support ticket so they can jump on this issue asap. I'll keep you guys posted, and if I get a fix, I'll be sure to edit this post further.
They had this issue when they first released the patch,thought it was fixed and was able to play the past few days and now it's back to crashing. Riot really needs to get their shit straight.
It's happening to me too. As soon as the home screen shows up, my whole computer freezes.
Same thing happened to me. I removed all the files and programs, and then re-installed, played successfully for one day, and now it's crashing my computer all over again!

I have also done the property change and League still freezes my computer. Here is to hoping that Riot can find a fix to this issue. I haven't been able to play league at all since Patch 5.14.

Okay if you are running windows 8 and have the freeze bug.
The latest Windows 8 update is causing the bug.
The solution is simple...
Just go into
Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates
Find the one most recent..
most likely it has "security" in the name.
Uninstall it and run a restart on your computer.
After this your LoL should work just fine.
Wait exactly 2 minutes after the freeze, and it will work again.
I have the same problem. Poor form from riot. Any fixes? Freezes the whole computer and i have to turn it off. This problem is a big one, happening to many friends too.
i had the same problem with you guys. log in and then everything freeze and i had to force to restart my pc. but i i found a solution at my problem! a friend of mine tell me that when you log in and your pc freeze let it for several minutes and it gonna unfreeze itself. i try it and it work! i just wait for around 5 minutes and it's unfreeze and i never had problem again. i hope to help some players here. keep trying guys
