The death screen has NEVER displayed accurate information, and even if it did there's only 3 slots for damaging sources per champion, and only 4 slots in total for champions. Meaning if more than 4 things attacked you, too bad. They had more than 3 sources of damage? Too bad. Oh you wanted to know what hit you? too bad here's a blank damage source with some debugger text.
The problem is that it's so ingrained in the base code they'd have to surgically remove it without completely destroying the rest of the game, which isn't the easiest. Remember that the code wasn't written by professionals, they were modders doing this as a hobby. For all we know, removing the current death recap makes Azir invincible while spawning Barons instead of sand soldiers (on top of everything else that would break). They've mentioned reworking the death recap before, but it's a high risk project that will take a really long time that could be dedicated to other things.
Yeah not gona lie, its annoying when i die and it says ive killed myself and i have an imagine of dragon which displays statikk shiv and silver bolts hitting me, when there isnt even a vayne in the game.
Also when you hover an ability, why does it say "deals damage" instead of the correct amount? What's the point of that?
but without that how would I know that I was killed by the 0 true damage, dealt by Olaf's flash, while Olaf had ghost/tp?
They should totally rework the Death Recap, there are a lot of bugs, old UI, and weird stuff there, like stuff without icons and name just saying "true damage" or a minion using an ability from a champion, idk, it would help a lot if they fix it and we could see the whole thing.
