[Gameplay] Draven Spinning Axes Vanish

So I am not sure if this is old or new, I haven't played Draven in a long time, but i noticed through most of my last game that after my axe jumps off an enemy and i would walk directly into the circle of the spinning axe as it lands, i would not pick it up. But there were so many times during the game that i would catch axes i was sure i couldn't catch in time. If its not a bug, is the hit box on it just weird?
