Disconnected from a game randomly?

My friend and I were playing a game and we both disconnected, so we tried exiting and reconnecting but we were at the home menu.... I hope that doesn't count as a loss.... because we were both in teamspeak and aren't on the same internet connection...Idk if this is happening to anyone else but thoughts??
