[Client] Game crash and unable to reconnect

The game client crashed and would not let me reconnect. This is ridiculous and has happened several times during the past several patches. Here are the details. My patch completed and everything was working fine. I played a few games with some buddies. As a 5 player queued team we are at champion select. We selected our champions. The match is about to load. Then all of a sudden the client had an error. Every time I retry, it would not connect. I used the alt+F4 to get out of loading. The game client prompted up. The reconnect button is at the center. I clicked on it. I could not reconnect. The retry is back up again. This time I end the process for League of Legends. I start up the game client. It was stuck at 33% and began calculating differences. This took more than 20 minutes to complete. The game client finally allowed me to log in. When I logged in the reconnect button was at the center. I clicked on it. Again it would not allow me to reconnect. Retry came up. I was unable to reconnect to the game stating that the game has crashed. However I am in a 5 player queue. My buddies are still in game so the game could not have crashed. After 5 more minutes, it finally allowed me to enter game. By now I am far behind in the game. I farmed a little bit but still am unable to be on par with lost time. We lost the game due to my prolonged absence. After the game ended, I get a warning for leaving the game or being afk making it an unfair game to other players. This is an error on the game client itself not me. Everything was fine and dandy until the client itself decided not to allow me to enter the game and I get punished for this. I find this unacceptable and would like this to be fixed. This is not the first time this reconnection situation has occurred for me. I do not want to be penalized for something I have no control over other than to keep on trying to reconnect.
