New Client - Champ Select Bug

In the new client, I purchased a new champion from the store . Wanting to play her I went directly to Summoners Rift and qued up for a game. After getting into a game I chose my recently purchased champion. Someone then dodged and I ended up in a new game lobby. This time, however, I couldn't get the champion to "stick" as my selection. About a 10th of a second after picking her she would deselect. I don't recall this happening in the first game lobby I was in. Wondering if this could be client related I closed the new client and started the old client. This time I am having no issues choosing my new champion.

 Some additional information: I tried to purchase the champion, but seemed to be logged in too long since it wouldn't let the purchase go through until I re-opened the new client.
