Internet dies when I play

I just recently got a new desktop and am using a wireless connection. Normally my internet speeds are fine. When I enter a game of LoL my ping spikes to 500+ constantly and when I run a speed check in the background my download speed drops significantly. When I play on my laptop this issue never occurs.
