Not being able to save games because of patch

So I just got done with a game of league, I was playing Rakan and kept my ADC alive from Shen for like hours. So I go back to save it and I see league patched it and so i couldn't save it. My point is i think its pathetic that a company like riot just because a patch cant save games. I love LOL and riot itself but this is one thing im upset with.
