Client Problems getting on my nerves

Okay so the problem starts with, I open the client and it says you are offline, so i can't log in, and I know that this isn't because of a problem on my side because I can have other internet needed programs open and working fine. After restarting the client hopefully it lets me in this time, and if it does, BOOM, can't make a lobby because it's "patching". Well obviously its not lol, sometimes this happens too even after a game of league and then after game I close the lobby and then it can't make another. I play on Mac also, idk it that means anything, anyone else getting these problems?
