[GAMEPLAY] Ezreal's Q not activating Luden's Echo

I noticed that Ezreal's Q (Mystic Shot) does not activate Luden's Echo when at 100 stacks. I'm not sure if in the coding it's treated as a basic attack and this is meant to happen, but I would think since it's a spellcast, it would in fact consume the 100 stacks of Luden's. Since on the tooltip for Luden's, the only requirement is to have 100 stacks and for you to cast a spell, Mystic Shot should fill all these requirements.

I tried Procing it off minions and Champions alike, but to no avail.

  1. Buy Luden's Echo while playing Ezreal (I was using the Nottingham skin on Howling Abyss but this also happens on Summoner's Rift).
  2. Reach 100 Stacks on Luden's either by walking or spellcasting.
  3. Attempt to consume the 100 stacks by using Mystic Shot on a minion or champion.

It's just how that skill works. It looks like an ability, but interacts a lot like an auto attack (in order to proc on-hit effects). The same thing happens with Gangplank's Q-Parrrley.

I personally think they both should be able to proc effects as an ability, but it's possible that it raises other issues allowing that and explaining why Riot hasn't changed them. It certainly would make AP GP much better (he can only proc Luden's with his Ult atm).

Working as intended, Ez Q procs Sheen, not Ludens. It acts as a ranged AA, not a spell cast.
