Same.

It seems to be caused by some OpenID/SSL problem.

Here's what I've tried (posted in another thread, see https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/bug-report/rx7pyVij-openid-authentication-error-ssl-cannot-authenticate-in-client):

Hi,

As of today, I'm currently unable to log into the League Client.

Process I've gone through to debug:

  • Connect via a different network -- this works, so I figured that there must be something wrong with how I've configured my local network.
  • Different DNS servers (local DNS, different local DNS, 8.8.8.8, 1.1.1.1) -- does not fix
  • HexTech Repair Tool -- does not fix
  • Disabling (1) ESET antivirus, running local on the computer that I'm trying to connect; (2) application/rule processing on traffic at the network gateway level; (3) disabling IPS/IDS; (4) local and network firewall.
  • nslookup auth.riotgames.com -- then I whitelisted the two IPs (this caused the little "thinking" ball to start whirling in the client)

Server: UnKnown Address: fe80::8c35:4dff:fed0:2c0c Non-authoritative answer: Name: auth.riotgames.com.cdn.cloudflare.net Addresses: 104.16.119.50 104.16.120.50 Aliases: auth.riotgames.com

  • Disabled network firewall and IPS
  • Bypass all traffic from my local matching to port 53

Current Network Setup:

  • ISP: Verizon FIOS
  • Router: Untangle UTM
  • Client OS, the computer I'm trying to log in on: Windows 10

League Log Error Output:

This seems to be the error that I'm getting:

001.008| OKAY| SSL failure in HTTP request https://auth.riotgames.com/.well-known/openid-configuration: Zero certificates recorded 000001.008| WARN| rso-auth| rso-auth: Request for openid configuration failed with error Could not connect to the server: Plugin "rcp-be-rso-auth" couldn't talk to "https://auth.riotgames.com/.well-known/openid-configuration" because: 60 - "SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate". and with headers 000001.183| OKAY| SSL failure in HTTP request https://auth.riotgames.com/.well-known/openid-configuration: Zero certificates recorded 000001.183| WARN| rso-auth| rso-auth: Request for openid configuration failed with error Could not connect to the server: Plugin "rcp-be-rso-auth" couldn't talk to "https://auth.riotgames.com/.well-known/openid-configuration" because: 60 - "SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate". and with headers
