Unable to get into league of legends

I tried to open league of legends but when i clicked on it, the league's logo pops up (like normal) and freezes. I tried to reinstall league, open as admin, tried some tips from other boards, but none of them worked. I am assuming the cause is because i was on my account when lol was supposed to be patched (as i heard that doing so would affect league of legends somehow).
