Game not saving client updates or downloads

everytime i turn my computer on and launch league of legends im having my client ive updated fully to 7.8 revert to 6.23 and it makes me download new client patches for about 1gb of data every time i open the game and then next time i open the client it does the same exact thing everytime regardless of the situation with no option to click to log in or launch legacy client
