League of Legends client not responding.

After champ select, the client thing pops up and everyone is at 0% the whole time. The mouse is supposed to change to the arrow thing but it doesnt. Then after a while, the client starts not responding and it flickers on and off "not responding". Then after like 10 minutes, I get in the game but due to inactivity, it forces me to quit the game. With the "reconnecting" in the background. This is so dumb. Is there anyway to fix this? my GPU is supposedly in the latest version (i dunno i checked to update and it said it was in latest). I used to be able to play this before on the same laptop but it just stopped working.
