First attempt to login fails 99% of the time

I have to retry to log in 2-3x every time and I get this error message, regardless of whether or not the servers are up.

I have to retry 10+ times to connect to chat,this login thing took 2-3 times.

Alright, for those of you having this issue i sent a ticket to riot support, and actually got the problem fixed, the fix is as follows:

  1. Open Internet Explorer

  2. Select 'Internet Options'

  3. Navigate to the 'Advanced tab'

  4. Scroll down in the window to the security section

  5. Uncheck the boxes to disable SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0

  6. Check the boxes to enable TLS 1.0

  7. Hit Apply

  8. Restart League of Legends

They use Frickin INTERNET EXPLORER! hahaha but yeah, this fixed this issue for me, why they arent responding to the thread and giving anybody the information they gave me is beyond me... probably because they want you to have to go through their ticket system...

Yeah... OP, get in the complaint line behind everyone...

Worst patcher ever. Other patchers are never so buggy, no MMORPG is this terrible. DC's, black screens, freezes..

I know Riot handles a huge number of players but this is practically the only issue that needs to be addressed in the game. I could care less about some stupid damage model when I can't even join my teammates.

Yeah, this has been happening to me and a personal friend of mine. Rito will probably deal with it like they are for the store. Either way, i will try opening is from the admin launcher.

It takes me 4-5 times at the minimum to log in nowadays

Turning off your virus protection or disabling your firewall works.

I've had the same problem. It is not virus protection or anything else. I have to try at least 3 times EVERY time without fail.

Been happening to me too. I just plugged in my computer with the ethernet cord, problem solved for now.

I press the launch button and nothing happens at least 2 times before the log in screen comes up. but i have no problems logging in once i get it up

Disabling the animations helps a lot.

So does keeping it as your focused file till you're logged in also helps.

I have the same problem but mine happens differently.

EVERYTIME I click *Launch *during the first startup, it never brings up the login screen. I go to task manager and stuff for league is still running. I have to close it and start the launcher over.

9/10 times I can login without incident after this, but occasionally I have to rinse-repeat the above mentioned problem; and then it will work.

Im not even going to go there with bitching about this game. Kinda over it...

For some reason it stopped doing that to me. But not after I was forced to use a workaround for the client not even opening up after I hit "Launch";

Try using the admin launcher instead (found in the LoL folder right next to the normal launcher), and/or running it in Administrator Mode.
