load screen freeze

So i joined some friends to play intermediate vs bots an my game got stuck at the load screen an I had no control from there on, my friends said I appeared in game but was not moving, I could not see anything but the load screen then when I backed out I was penalized for 5 min for being AFK, I am a fairly new player with a new computer that is all up to date. This isn't the first time this has happened and Ive only been playing for a week now. please fix this or give me some idea as to why this is happening thank you
