Caitlyn's Ace in the hole & Silence

So I played a game just now as Garen with an enemy Caitlyn on the other team. She started channeling her Ace in the hole and targetting me I quickly silence her with my Decisive Strike I do not get hit with Ace in the hole. But no more then 15 seconds later she channels it on my teammate. Is this interaction correct? Is Caitlyn supposed to be refunded the cooldown on Ace in the hole if she's silenced during the channel?

Also if this interaction is intentional why doesn't this happen with Poppy, Karthus or Fiddles Ultimates?

Probably because it's a one-target ability meant for execution, whereas the champs you mentioned have channeling ults for more than one target (poppy fiddle aoe, karthus 5 targets). Idk about the others, but if you play Caitlyn, you will see that when you ult, the cooldown timer starts after you fire. If it gets cancelled before that, she gets a reduced cd to "try again". It's like Sion's Q.

Single target, windup ultimates can be put on a super reduced cooldown if they get interrupted.

Although, only certain champions have been given his interaction, as it gives them more time to be forgiving. If Caitlyn's targets dies before the shot fires, she has a super low cooldown of 5 seconds to try another target. Garen is the same, as it has a good windup animation. If Zed's target dies before his mark is fully applied, his ultimate goes on a super reduced cooldown as well. If Nami dies while channeling her ultimate, it'll be placed on a 10 second cooldown.
