Keyboard & Mouse Delay followed by Odd Beeping.

Victorious Kled·1/22/2019, 7:00:55 PM·17 votes·11,821 views

Sometimes (around one time per game) my Mouse randomly lags and jumps when i try to move it. Every input on both keyboard and mouse is strongly delayed (around 4-5seconds), After around 30 seconds, the problem stops, and the beep can be heared about 3 times. The beep sounds something like morse code. Through the entire 'lag' the sound can't be heared, but after it stops, it plays randomly around 3 to 5 times, with random gaps between the single beeps.

My OS is Windows 7 32bit.

I've already: -Searched the issue in the internet, I haven't found anyone having the exact same issue as me. -Reinstalled my Graphics Card Drivers

-Updated my Graphics Card Drivers, (also tried with older ones, no avail)

-Checked my Ram if everything's okay,

-Checked my Graphics Card if everything's okay

-Scanned for malware with Avast & Malwarebytes

-Cleaned my PC with CCleaner

-Defragmentated my Harddrive

-Disabled every program running in the background

-Checked Processes in Task Manager if there's something that shouldn't be there

-Reinstalled Keyboard & Mouse Drivers

-Restored System to the time before this issue happened for the first time.

-Changed my Graphics Card to one I've had before my change (the same thing happens)

-Changed my Antivirus Software (before the change it was Avast)

-Changed my Mouse and Keyboard

-Changed the Battery on my Motherboard

-Checked my BIOS settings

-Reinstalled and Repaired League.

None of these things helped for the issue, it's still exactly the same as it was. I don't have any ideas what to do next. The issue just started one day, I didn't even do anything special on the computer the day before.

Important thing to add is, the same thing has happened lately to the second PC i have in my room. And when the issue happens, It's on both PCs at the same time from that moment.

Thank you in advance for help.

Pretty much the same for me started about 20 days ago ,starts during laning phase around 5-15 minutes, delay varies between 1-3 seconds ,it is always followed by frame drop and a weird beeping after it stops or just at the time it is about to stop, beeping varies from 2-7 beeps with 1-4 seconds between them. At the start it didn't happen every day but when it did it was for every game, the last 4 days though it occurs every game and sometimes more than once. I should also mention three incidents were it got really bad. First one was about 11 days ago ,after the beeping stopped the keyboard and mouse became totally unresponsive and whenever I pressed a button or clicked it was followed by a single beep ,happened 2 minutes before the game finished ,after that the client did not open after the game and I had to log in again.(I have enabled the option to close the client during a game but it always opens after a game ends) Second incident happened about 4 days ago ,basically the delay lasted for the entire game ,it was about 1 second ,i never heard the beep and also there was no frame drop. Third incident happened just yesterday ,this time the delay was only on my keyboard and my mouse became totally unresponsive ,when the beeping started i had a massive frame drop and after a while the screen went black ,I could still hear the game ,my teammates pinging and the beep ,I tried to close the window, i tried to minimize it and I tried to disable full screen but nothing was responding ,I rebooted my PC and rejoined the game with no more issues. Does anyone know why is this happening or how to stop it? The game has become unplayable for me right now.

Do we have any news about the subject? I thought it was sticky keys, so i disabled everything stiky keys related and it stopped(around the same time a new patch came in, so i thought it was disabling the sticky keys that fixed it) but then one the next patch it started again, it usually happens at the 7-9 minute mark for me, fps drop, every input becomes laggy as hell and the random beeping starts.

Confirmed - Removing AVAST AntiVirus fixed this problem for me,

I am having issue almost exactly as described by OP. The only difference being that I only get relief from the input stacking, input buffer overflow, or whatever if I alt+tab AND hear a series of what appear to be hardware error code boops (sounds like books) coming from my sound card "PC Speaker". I have to wait until there is a problem, after it's mushy and lagging behind, and often after I have appeared to int up lane like an Olaf bot. Sucks to have to remember to inch my way up all the time and even that doesn't help during a severe suspension of control. It does no apparent good to preemptively alt+tab. If I don't get multiple boops, then there is no relief. It can happen multiple times in game, but sometimes only once but in every game now. It has never happened to me before in any other game.

I am using a bog standard generic wired keyboard without programmable keys and MS w/l mobile mouse 3500 3-button scroll mouse. This appeared to have been fixed about 3 patches ago when they removed an option in settings coinciding with me not binding alt to anything as that seemed to trigger it. Back then, I would hear the boops in the game rather than when I alt+tabbed. I wish I could remember which settings option was removed. Clicking on UI to cast spell, maybe. I left a post on a similar thread before then, but it got removed for candidness, I imagine.

The OP has tried more t-shooting than I am willing or able to put in now, but OP's statement about the computers being synchronized when exhibiting the problem seems to point to a network issue. Can OP confirm? My ping and frames is fine when this happens or at least the display of. It feels like helpless loss of control that can't be compensated for with prediction or experience playing with lag spikes. There are no dropped frames, just massive input lag. I can clearly see every frame of my helpless self flailing with inputs requested long ago, followed by the crazed compensation clicks that make the problem worse, but can't be helped, all utterly inappropriate in the current situation where I am lurching haphazardly towards enemies thoroughly delighted to take me on in my drunken state. I came to the tentative conclusion that either the keybinding or input handling is shaky and temperamental, but I can't speculate further . Riot's boilerplate is to remove game.cfg and persistedsettings.json and let them be recreated while other online sources say remove input.ini and the input.ini section of persistedsettings.json, but these didn't work for me. I have disabled all accessibility feature keyboard shortcuts such as StickyKeys. Also disabled CapsLock. Don't need to shout.

I know best practices are 90% of security, but if you disable third party AV s/w, at least make sure Windows Defender is enabled in Action Center.

I'm having the exact same issue. The mouse and keyboard are only responding after a delay and then i can hear 3 to 5 beeps, just like 'Victorious Kled' described them. This whole process happens about 3 or 4 times per game in the worst cases. I tried disabling the Avast Antivirus and it reduced it to only once per match. I play other games too and it didn't happen in any of them. It only started recently, a few days ago. I'm not entirely sure if it started to happen after an update, but this could be possible. I know the last patch update was 3 days ago.

Hello,

I have the same problem since a couple of days (7-10 days ago ?). Always in laning phase, at about 5-12 minutes, Game freezes and beep noise for 3-5 times, even when i switch to windows desktop with alt+tab, mouse feel very "laggy" The problem last for about 20 sec then it goes normal. (until the next game) Did you change the way you access the mouse ? I have windows 7 64 bits Nothing changed in my computer configuration since more than 1 year.

Sincerely yours, Damien

PS: same bug (and since 7-10 days too) has been reported in spanish language in lol forum

Hello

Problem totally solved with desactivation of antivirus (avast free antivirus) while playing.

Got demoted because of this. What if it's not a glitch? What if it is somebody implementing a hack into your game to control your mouse?

I have exactly the same problem, if anybody finds solution please reply.

Just disable your avast antivirus(if you have it, if not try disableing your antivirus) and your problem should be gone.

The issue seems to be much improved by simply letting patch 9.10 install. No other changes were made. The situation went from basically unintentionally throwing matches to a single boop accompanied by a few seconds of "mushy" input in one of 3 games I played yesterday. Negligible down-time, although it would have been worse had it happened at a critical moment. No need to repeatedly alt+tab to "reset" by temporarily relieving the input stacking. The freedom to confidently mash keys and use more mouse clicks for positioning and cancelling has already improved my game and made me realize how much of an insidiously negative effect this bug has been having on my win rate, but more importantly, my enjoyment of the game in the last few months. I hope Riot can follow the bread crumbs to once and for all get to the bottom of this bug and stamp it out for good, but this is promising.

I must add that this is probably not a happy accident and that Riot is aware of the issue, but not making us aware that they are aware of it and working on it. I don't like this lack of disclosure at all. It causes people to waste countless hours doing their own tech support to no avail while questioning their own sanity. It's called FUD and it is an ugly, deceptive practice for which I have no tolerance and I would never consider subjecting my user base to it.

I know I am late but I am having the same issue but the difference is that mine doesn't have the beeping sound and the delay doesn't stop until I quit and reconnect to the game to make the delay disappear. it starts happening at like 12 minutes after my game begins. This keeps happening to me once every game and it affects my performance.

Can you describe the beep noise more? In other words, can you recognize the sound in any way?

SnowBright12/16/2019, 4:22:49 PM1 votes

Hello. Had the same problem and did these things to fix it. Removed unusefull programs including avast, iobit, games etc. Then turned off every unsefull process and finally turned my league into borderless. Now it doesnt do that. Also to note. I have 4 years old bad setup. Could be causing it too.

KnulleFitte1/23/2019, 12:18:10 AM1 votes

Happened to me a couple of times as well. In my case i have to restart my system to get rid of it most of the times

Baldazzor1/30/2019, 8:33:21 AM1 votes

I got the exact same issue. Insane mouse/keyboard latency, followed by a beep beep sound that happens for 2-3 seconds. The sound happens after this glitch finishes. It started happening this patch, never had this issue before. It's all sudden.

Cata9091/31/2019, 5:25:20 PM1 votes

I have the same problem. And always follow with frame drop right? For beeping sound if you use and go to amd settings ( right click amd settings) and go on gaming then global and scroll all the way down and turn off chill. Works for me.
