Stop blaming Riot

Now, I've had the same problems as a lot of people. Unable to connect since this morning and all. I'm not salty about it. Seriously, if a few people in this community just thought things through a bit, they'd understand why there are server issues. Now, I'm not a networking guy, but I think I've played games long enough to be able to grasp what's happening.

  1. It's the holiday season. This isn't too hard to understand. It's the holidays. Schools are out. Meaning everybody and their mother is going to log on to play. Which means the servers are going to be strained.
  2. Events. Not only are the holidays here, but Riot has blessed us with a new game mode. Player who have quit the game will come back. Servers go into overdrive.
  • Bigger and better(?). I don't know about you, but I've seen a slow increase over time in the time it takes for me to queue into a game. League is getting ever more popular and at a pace, I assume, that the devs can't really catch up to sometimes. You try running a game like this one.

I'm sure there are more, but I think these reasons more than justify ONE day of lag. However, I'm sure there will still be ungrateful players who will insult the devs and cry about on the boards. I just can't believe that even during the holiday season, almost everyone in this community, out of all the wonderful flavors they can be, choose to be salty and bitter. What bugs me even more is that the people in these forums complain about a horrible community, when they are part of the problem, too.

I, for one, love you Riot. I hope ya'll have happy holidays. If only your community could get behind the spirit of giving, too.

well ive been lagging for more than ONE day. and people like your are why riot doesnt fix the servers for good. they even get fan support for doing a bad job pfft.

Yeah, I completely agree. I've done my deal of getting upset at people for raging at Riot. I think they are a great company for all that they already do for free. :) Happy Holidays summoner 31

id have to agree with u buddy, this is why riot had to shut down and and are still trying to rework in-game chat, problems happen and Riot receives all the aggro when they are the only plp trying to fix it. happy hoildays:)

Well I AM a network guy, and we live in an age where hardware can be virtualized, and networks can expand and collapse to handle load. Considering the negative experience this causes the massive amount of players that are the cause of it, it was in Riot's best interest to foresee this, and prevent it (cuz money) and they did not.

I can fully understand the technical challenges and high loads. The thing I rant about most is the way the enforcement or lack there of of toxic players not getting any warnings or anything . Also the propaganda of the tribunal and 78% stat in game tips when it is never up has not been since I started playing.They could have a in game system where if you block a player you cannot be in same game like a filter. This alone would punish toxic players and somewhat form groups of intolerant good players away from toxic I care less ones. Example would be someone who is almost always a problem every game would potentially lose 8 more people to play with to the point of where they would have to retry game entry many times over cause someone on the que for that game has them blocked.

While im in no means salty or bitter, you have to admit with how long this game has been out its pretty much inexcusable at this point. They have had 5 years to fix this problem. if they were just starting out it would be understandable, but its past that point. Plus put into account that it is not one day of lag. this has happen while not to many, but to some people. its just going full force because of the holiday, and it also happens during the summer time for the same reason!

All in all while i dont really mind, i have other things to do. i just feel like Riot doesnt take it as serious as they have in the past. like i said they have had more than enough time to fix most if not all the problems that are happening with this game, but for what ever reason chooses not to fix it, for takes their time to do it, which makes most people think they arent doing anything. It would be like having a job, and doing absolutely nothing, but telling people you are. you have nothing to show for it, or any progress.
