ARAM PVP with random amounts of bots

How does the bot system work with ARAM PVP? I just played with weirdest game with 4 bots and myself again 2 bots and 3 real people. Seems a little broken if the bot spread is not even. There was no information saying that this was the case as well, only when they ran head long into the enemy repeatedly did i notice anything.
