Missing Champion data after patch 5.3

Played a ranked game this morning with no problems, then proceeded to take a break. I return to League of Legends for another ranked game some time later and everything is fine in champion select, everyone picks their champion and my teammate picks Zed. Gong goes off, game starts to loading then disaster. Error message exits my client and says my client is missing the champion Zed. What? How is this possible? I run the repair function on my client which takes sometime, by which my ranked game is done and the poor souls are given a free loss because my client was broken in a very specific manner by patch 5.3. When I re-logged I was given a prompt that made me agree to not leave anymore games, which I know is not my fault in any way. Posting to the boards for some visibility, would love a loss forgiven for those on my team and for myself if it is deemed fit. My Summoner name is Wish I was Good, even though this website is telling it is going to post as Uber Casual which was my old name.

TLDR; Patch 5.3 made my client not have Zed as a champion and gave no indication that this was the case. Started a ranked game game client has emotional breakdown and results in a leave for me and a free loss for my teammates. Hoping for a correction to this.

Patch 5.3 also corrupted my game. I was lucky enough not to be in a game when I discovered this...... The patch worked fine last night and I had no problems, but when I went to log in today it said that there appeared to be some corrupted files and forced me to repair the game. I have no idea why this is happening so it'd be nice if someone here who might understand this issue could explain what's going on :)
