[Client] Ping Spiking Upwards of 400 In Game At Random

My ping is decent in game for the majority of the time at about 100 to 110. Every 2 to 3 minutes, however, it spikes to over 400. It then gradually depletes back to about 100 again over the course of about 4 to 5 seconds. This is often very distressful when in the middle of a solo lane fight and you suddenly are not doing what you want to do at the right times.

I have a Toshiba Satellite s55-b5280 Laptop. It runs the game great at about 60 fps on very high settings. Everything seems to be fine. I have Verizon Fios and according to speedtest.net I am getting 45.10 Mbps download speed and 36.66 Mbps upload speed.

Furthermore, I have gone to two friend's houses and gotten 80 and 90 ping while on their internet respectively. The same issue persists even when on different internet. Other MOBAs (Dawngate and Smite) have not had this issue on my laptop. I am kind of lost as to what to do now because it seems as though I should be fine with my laptop and internet as fast as they are. Any ideas you Rioters out there?

Yeah I get this sometimes, just out of no where 400 ping for 3-4 seconds then find again, for literally no reason. Then I will see people in my game suddenly "is anyone else lagging?" all confused, making me assume it isn't just me.

I know it isn't my internet because I have roommates that are playing games as well and never complain about these issues in the online games they play, and I have VERY good internet sitting at 52 Mbps (no clue why the extra 2 but it is there from every test I have done).

I can't even get the 80 ping I had when I started in 2011 anymore and see it fluctuate randomly from 120 at the loading screen to 110 in game, sometimes 90, sometimes who knows.

I don't use wireless I have it directly plugged in from the router that is on the other side of my wall. I know it has to be Riot because no other game of mine has had these issues or gotten worse in the same respect.

Bump. Same issue... and I know it's not my internet because while i haven't tested other connections, when i get these ping issues i tab out to Chrome and I can load pages at the same speed as normal

Same issue, and I DC at times as well. What's funny is, multiple threads about this have been made. Not a single one of them were addressed by Riot. There are also no knew posts from them where they acknowledge this issue. I don't mind if it's a temporary problem. Games have problems like these all the time, but when the company doesn't even take notice of it, that pisses me off.

Bump, same exact issue. Ping spikes to 300-400 and then slowly goes back to its normal 90-95. A few minutes later it does the same thing again -- usually while another player is active in the area around my champ. I've tested this on WoW / Wildstar / Heros of the Storm / Smite and have not had any issues in any other games. Verizon FIOS internet, hardwired, east coast.

Yeah I have fine ping for the majority of the game but it will spike up then down at random. It only lasts for like 5 seconds. But 5 seconds is a long ass time when it comes to fights or timing dragens/barens/csing etc...

I also have the DC issue occasionally. It actually happened during a GameMaster Tournament I was in 2 nights ago. I was disconnected out of nowhere. Oh, and I also am able to use the internet while this issue ensues... Maybe someday it will go away with a patch. I trust Riot and I don't think that it will be a permanent problem. Riot has been the greatest gaming company I have ever interracted with (through use of games, help with bugs etc...).

Now granted it hasn't effected my performance yet. I have won 7 ranked games in a row because I know how to be careful when it occurs and just stay at a safe distance from the enemy team that even the delayed clicks I use will be in time to escape. I have been doing really well. However, it is really frustrating every 5-10 minutes to sudden;y know that you are now useless for the next 5 seconds. Heaven help me if I am in a team fight when it happens again lol
