Kassadin R then E Bugged for me

I've played alot of Kassadin before his latest nerf, and changed rolls to other lanes , anyhow I played him tonight and the Shift into E combo for me everytime was shooting the E backwards for me , I even tested it out with 6 charges in the jungle to make sure I hadnt had to much to drink , nope , before I could R E just fine , now shoots it backwards.
