[IN-GAME] Chat suddenly stops working
The in-game chat will sometimes freak out and stop working after a while of being in game. Usually happens when someone pings something, though other times it was purely random. The chat completely stops feeding in information even though you can hear it make the sounds for something being said. It takes a while but it fixes itself after a few minutes.
Steps:
- Get into a game
- Play for more than 8-10min
- Try to ping something: a champion, an item, etc. Or just skip to 4, sometimes it isn't dependent on you pinging.
- Try to write something in chat and see that nothing comes up after the ping.
- Wait 1-3min and see the chat come back with everything that you've missed in that time.
As the chat disappears you'll still hear the sound of someone writing something in chat, even yourself. This happened before the recent patch as well as in the newest one 7.20/7.21
Update 10/28/17: Just wanted to point out this issue is more frequent than before. The freezing of the chat happens more often in game as well as happening every game instead of just once every few games. I'd also like to point out I'm playing on a Mac, as most users below pointed that out.
