Client decided to not work

I qued up for a rank game then my client decided to break down. I tried to get back several times but alas the client wasn't working. Twice it had to re download the patch then once that was done I clicked on the reconnect button and nothing happened. Thing is that client worked fine yesterday and early this morning. Now I am out 19 lp points for something that was out of my control.
