Unable to lock in champ in ranked 5's

Was queued up with one friend in ranked 5's. Bans went just fine, went into champ select. I selected Blitzcrank who was highlighted as an available Champion. I pressed the lock in button and it disappeared and then reappeared several second later. Spent the last 10-12 seconds furiously mashing it when it reappeared and then got booted and the abandoned game queue cool down.
