Graphics Bug - application has been blocked from using graphics hardware

The game's graphics have somehow freaked up, nothing is visible except a few solid colour rectangles when hovering over minions / towers. This happened mid game, nothing in particular happened to cause it. the game crashed after a while and windows informed me that LoL has been blocked from accessing the Graphics hardware... Any help people???
