Lost connection to game than had to do a new update?

So I just finished downloading patch 6.10, get into a blind pick game to warm up before ranked, everything is going fine...

Game crashes during the loading screen. Alright, not too unusual for me, attempt to reconnect a few times, just get the black screen (what happens every time no matter however many attempts) and have to close league completely and log back in as that usually allows me to Reconnect first try.

This time though when I open the Launcher, I'm presented with a 1500 Mb update...

Anyone have an idea as to why this happened/Way around it for the future?

Also sorry to everyone in that Blind pick game, as for updates this size I have to revert to a slower connection that has unlimited data while I save my good connection with 10 Gb of data for actual gaming.

Edit: Just finished the 1500 Mb update, it reverted my log in screen settings, got rid of my remember username, and re-enabled animations and music when I know I had them disabled. Also immediately after logging in it came up with the New Champ Select Is Now Live! screen from when it first came out.

I am very confused by this, but I did not receive a ban so guess it isn't too bad.
