client home screen broken?

i logged in today to find not just my friends list still broken (cant see what friends are playing, timers were fine though) but my home page was black. and an error message was displayed telling me that "we weren't able to load this page. if your internet connection is otherwise ok, wait a few minutes and try again." and it definately isnt my connection as i can do everything else the client offers without problem(except see my broken friends list at times) friends on my friends list report the same thing happening to their home page as well.

edit: i should also add that no matter how long i wait or try again it does not load.
