Game still in progress no reconnect

So basically I downloaded the new client, and it has been real laggy which is understandabke, as it is being fixed. Sometimes tho, my game will not start, and instead display the message "game still in progress" yet my game wont open. I have tried many solutions including exiting my client, and also disconnecting and reconnecting to my internet. I just wanted to bring this to Riots attention cause I'm getting tired of causing matches to restart and such. Anyone else having this issue?
