Got a loss due to a client bug - "Game is still in progress..." !!

So, I started a ranked game, went through picks and bans, locked in my pick, then the game would normally load but the client minimized to the taskbar. When I opened the client it said "Game is still in progress but the actual game client never opened. I closed and reopened my league client 3 times. On the 3rd time it was the normal home screen but I had lost LP (from 75 down to 57), and I could play immediately? None of that makes any sense. Normally if I had left / not joined it would be either a 3LP loss (queue dodge), or I couldn't play a game for 6 minutes or whatever it is (leaver status).

So, I'd prefer to get my LP back @riot...

You need to forceclose it with windows task manager before you relaunch

you do not have to kill the task, but kill the process "league of legends.exe", its for the game window (not "L.o.L.exe*32, its for the client). the client will take it as dc, and will autoreconnent.
